About

I suspect that I am best described as an emerging artist. I have no formal background in the arts and first picked up a camera with a view to creating rather than simply recording in about 2016.

I am particularly interested in a sense of place and a corresponding erosion or disappearance of a sense of self or identity. I do not view the loss of a sense of self as a wholly bad thing, indeed in some senses it can be quite therapeutic. I also find myself moving away from ”the long views” of endless horizons and moorlands and, instead, focussing in more and more detail into the countless abstract worlds that can be found when one looks really closely into, rather than at, a landscape.

Most of my work is centred around Dartmoor. However the last 18 months has seen me reach out to northern Scotland, Ceredigion and the Brecons.
